Ghelamco Poland’s office building Wronia 31 has received the BREEAM eco certificate with the Outstanding rating for the Post Construction stage. It is the second time in history and the first in five years that an office building in Poland has got such a high rating.
Ghelamco is the first developer in Poland which has certified an office building with the BREEAM system. In 2010 the certificate was awarded to Trinity Park III in Warsaw.
Wronia 31 is the company’s tenth BREEAM-certified building. It is also the second commissioned office building in the certificate’s history in Poland to receive such a high score and the Outstanding rating for the Post Construction stage.
BREEAM is the most popular eco certification system. It assesses, among others, the building’s quality, its friendliness to the natural environment, and comfort level of the people staying in it. The assessment is made at every stage of the construction process. The method was developed by Building Research Establishment (BRE) from Great Britain.
“Wronia 31 is a project which from the very start has been implemented in line with sustainable construction principles. We want to provide our tenants and their employees with possibly the best eco solutions to ensure highest user comfort. BREEAM certificate with the Outstanding rating confirms this,” says Jarosław Zagórski, Commercial and Business Development Director, Ghelamco Poland.
Currently all the company’s projects are delivered in line with sustainable construction principles and BREEAM (BRE Environmental Assessment Method) guidelines. Apart from Wronia 31, the company’s key green projects include Warsaw Spire and Wołoska 24, certified with Excellent ratings. The company’s flagship project The Warsaw HUB as well as .big in Krakow are pending.

Wronia 31 was commissioned in autumn 2017. The building was designed by a team of architects from Jaspers-Eyers Architects, a Belgian studio which is also the author of the neighbouring Warsaw Spire complex. It is a 15-storey office building located in Warsaw’s Wola district. The total space of the building is 16,000 sq m, of which 15,150 accounts for top-class offices and 850 for commercial spaces. An underground parking lot has been prepared for 195 cars as well as infrastructure for cyclists, including 54 bicycle spaces, locker rooms and showers. Office employees without cars will have access to public transport, including the second metro line.
